CO should be 1.5% +/- 0.5% for a standard compression engine. Low compression I'd expect between 2.2% and 3% depending on how low it is. The legal limit is 3.5% CO and 1000ppm hydrocarbons. You can have a high hydrocarbon reading if it is running too lean, or too rich.
