Before you start aquiring anything, you need to know what Vista you had, generally green / purple stickers are OEM. So you would need an OEM version of Vista Home for example, then when installing it you use the cd key on your computer so it activates it.

There's a lot of "already activated" copy's of Windows on the net, but very rarely do they work 100% so i'd steer well clear of them.
