cheers for the advice guys, looking back through the paperwork last night the engine was rebuilt 6years ago covering just over 11,000miles he did tell me he didnt drive it much as he had three other cars 6years is along time and as im going to be driving on a daily basis i dont want to risk anything, to be on the safe side im going to change the oil pump rang ford and got a price £207.17 inc vat is this guy serious?

after leaving me in confusion about later style pump and earlier style pump which would be the best one to get? also how hard is it to change the oil pump with the engine still in the car? the haynes manual covers it with the engine out of the car. also which is the best way to change the oil pump? cheers sam.
