Second hand ones are shit compared to new and offer nowhere near the same grip levels.

Full slicks can be used sucessfully in the damp but you have to have quick reactions. Lower the tyre pressure slightly if its damp. They will last slightly longer as the speeds will be lower and they will run cooler.
