I had this problem when I bought my cossie and replaced the phase sensor but eventually traced it to the multiplugs at the back of the engine bay. The connectors get filled with dirt. I totally removed the connectors and soldered the loom together and it's completely cured it. Only took about half an hour. That was about 4 years ago and never had a problem with it since.
