One thing i can never understand is why people want to use an old old car as a daily hack? I hate newer or most newer cars with a passion, but you could get yourself a nice modern reliable mondeo, focus etc for upto a £1500, then id spend the rest on a toy? why not? i use my 3 door cossie as a daily drive except for winter and thats painted body colour underneath, just means i need to keep it clean
before my 3 door i used my s2 rs turbo as a daily
i wouldnt want a modern car myself being a mechanic as i know how much they cost to repair and how unreliable 90% of modern cars are, people complain about how exspensive cossies are to repair well they aint when compared to modern vw's, mercs, even mondeos, i know of people spending 1000's just fixing one fault on a ,odern car these days whereas you could keep a retro ford on the road year by year for no more than a couple of hundred quid for repairs if you buy a good example in the first place and keep on top of it
