Bought a 2002 Ka from local salvage to sell on, the key will start the car and open the fuel cap however wont open either door or tailgate, although will lock them.

The key doesnt feel great, can feel the metal part moving when you turn it in the ignition etc and can see where molegrips or pliers have been on it.

What can i do about this? Can i go to a local locksmith and get a new one cut? Its got the red chip in it which i'm not sure about? I'm thinking the key is worn.

I had planned to get a set of door locks and key and swapping them over but would like to keep it all one if possible.
