there is a special tool for the belt for that engine which isnt a ford engine. the tool is for refitting the belt hence cutting the old one, the haynes says its to be cut. plus you may as well cut it and replace it i mean better safe than sorry and belts like that dont cost much
Are you sure.Im sure these aux belts a tensioner that you can put a spanner onto to tensioner and take the tension off and remove the belt.My wifes fiesta has a 1.25 16v engine which are similar to the 1.6 16v.I changed the aux belt on her car how i have mentioned above.
I know the tranny vans need a tool to get the aux belt back on.
