You've clearly either failed to grasp the whole point of my annoyance, or you work for A&G - I think its the latter. In which case please pass on my regards to Andy - I think he'll need all the help he can get since he is now being investigated. I hope he can sleep ok at night

I never said I had an issue with any car dealer selling a car to the first person who turns up with cash for it (see quote from my original post below). I'd do exactly the same had it been me selling the car.

I understand that money talks, and that from his point of view there was a chance I might not have turned up tomorrow, which is fair enough. However, what pisses me off is that I could have easily gone down on any day this week to buy it, but it supposidly didn't suit him
What I wouldn't do to someone looking to buy a car I'd advertised, is lie to them. For example, by telling them they can't come and view the car until the following weekend, because I was apparantly not available during the week. The purpose of this lie being to hide the fact that a potential buyer has already been lined up. Thus, misleading the '2nd in reserve' prospective buyer to believe that they will be the very first person to view the car once the seller becomes "available" again at the weekend. Had I known I was "2nd in reserve" there is no way I would have gone to the hassle of arranging insurance and paying for a full HPI check. My mistake was obviously taking his word as gospel.

I could have easily been down to view the car, several days before the Saturday I agreed to view it with Andy. But it was left until Sat because he was "not available" on Wed-Fri of that week. But then someone he sells the car to someone of the Fri he was apparantly not available.

P.S. - I've noticed that if you type "A&G Motors Wakefield" into Google, this thread and it's title is 4th from the top of the page, and clearly visible - which is nice!
