ford recommend ATF fluid, dexron 2 i believe

but some use 75w/90 gear oil.

the only issue with using gear oil, is when the oil is cold, it will be notchy and sometimes difficult to get into gear.

you'll need between 2.5 and 2.7 litres, depends on how much of the old fluid you get out
