[quote=Sp3no;5273709]It did indeed take me 2 days but i removed refurbished and painted all the suspension componants hubs etc lol.Respect to the guys who can do this in a matter of hours, obviously too many cups of tea lol.
Basically the DMF is two fly wheels joined with a flexible rubber bushing which flexes when you take up drive to give a super smooth gear change, the rubber perishes and the two plates start to flex too much and eventually make contact and you get a nice chattering sound from your gearbox as the two parts touch. It is not a case of if the DMF will fail but when so if a clutch change is needed then Change the DMF otherwise you will end up doing the job twice, my ST170 only had 50K on it when i changed the clutch and the DMF was a mess. Fitting the solid lightweight flywheel has transformed the car, its so much faster at accelerating and responsive. I have quite a few mods but the fly has dropped my 0-60 time to under 7 seconds. Only problem is a lightweight fly produces clutch chatter which sounds like a busted released bearing!! If you can live with the chatter at idle get a lightweight item. Oh change the slave cylinder too whilst your there.
2 days work begins lol

lightweight fly

stage 3 clutch

All back together again
