The CG ford rally car. Built by CG ford in 1983/4 alongside the R.E.D sierra.
Originally ran with a BDA and ZF gearbox. Which got changed to a prototype cossi lump and getrag box at some point.

She can only really be called an XR due to it being deemed that the XR shell was stronger than the base 3dr at the time. She was never a road going XR, as she was built from a new shell straight from ford.

Thank you for your post, I knew of the prototype cars, but never thought I would see one great pic's and I love the arch kit.
I have had Series X Capri's and Escort's too. But would like a Sierra . I lost out on a Steel arch Sierra on Ebay last year and was real pist at that. I did get some good pic's of it thoe . I would of thought FORD would of used more of the 909 mods for the Cosworth as they are very flexi for a fast car. The Merkur is real stiff Car to a Ford the full chassis make it real nice to throw in to bends and round abouts too . Thanks Paul W
