I'll see your 1985 and raise you 2 years back to 1983.

I'm running (ha) one the first sierra competition cars.
The CG ford rally car. Built by CG ford in 1983/4 alongside the R.E.D sierra.
Originally ran with a BDA and ZF gearbox. Which got changed to a prototype cossi lump and getrag box at some point.

She can only really be called an XR due to it being deemed that the XR shell was stronger than the base 3dr at the time. She was never a road going XR, as she was built from a new shell straight from ford.
