thanks for all your input, but i should have said in the first place that the purpose of asking about mid-range tyres is that they are going on my missuses car, so the work that they will be doing is, the school run, the shop run and occasional drive out to see her mother which is across country.

i dont want to go super cheap and get budget indian tyres, but there again i dont want to spending more than £300(fitted)for a set. just a half decent tyre that would be good, especially when the weather turns and good enough for me when i drive it occasionally.
