went down to the sierra today and took her on a 20 mile round trip,

when i first started up she started revving to 3k dropped off then again revved to 3k and held it there,
i flicked off the ignition and started again with no further problems once the engine was warm, drove the car for about 10 miles and she kept missing when pulling away, i'd get the kangaroo petrol then once above 2k it would be fine.

after about 10 miles this problem seemed to sort itself out.... fantastic

(perhaps just needed a good run as it had been sat for a week or 2)

almost home and my clutch has gone, when i push it down i get 2 loud grinding clicks and a ratchet sound (lots of little clicks) on the way back up,
thankfully my mate towed me home in his focus, bad news is i can no longer take the piss out of it :-(

my brothers had a quick look in the dark and says the cable is intact but theres some kind of ratchet type thing thats lost its teeth.


does anyone know what it is i need to replace and where i'd get it from?
what was up with the car for the first half of the journey, did it just need a good run?
