The best current tyre imo is the HANKOOK VENTUS EVO V12, I have had the others mentioned, as well as F1 etc, and they are all outclassed by a long long way by the hankook, this is what I have on the gf's astra(205/50x15) and the cossie(225/45x17, and 235/45x17) even though I've not even got a set of 17" yet for the cossie I have the tyres.
Very quiet, long lasting, comfy, mega stable, grip is awsome wet or dry, read the Sepang test where they kept up within 2 seconds of full on race tyres, for over 300 miles of track use and were still legal afterwards!!
