No spark
Hi, ive got a series 2 rst. About 2 weeks ago just before the cold weather and snow came, i was driving along and the car jaulted, i didnt take much notice of it until about 4mins later when the car cut out, it took me and my mate about 10mins to start it. I drove a further 5mins and it cut out but started straight away, then i drove 30secs till it cut out again and finally wouldnt start, by this time i had mates who own cossies and esrt looking at it and they didnt know, finally 20mins later i got it going and drover to a mates house and left it there overnight. The next day it wouldnt start so i put a group A coil on it and it was fine for the night until i decided to go for a drive with friends. i was on full boost and there was a massive bang and then it cut out again. we found that there was an earth wire by the rad that had split, we twizzled it together and it worked again, so i drove home and left it overnight. the next mornign my car struggled to start, finally after 7/8 seconds of turning over it started, i thought it was just the cold weather over night that had made it struggle. I drove to work and tried to start it at the end of the day but it wouldnt start. i left it there and came back the next day and tried again but still nothing.
I got a couple of mates who have owned rst's in the past to look at it but they couldnt work it out. so i got a new dizzy and fitted it and still nothing. Since then we have narrowed it down to there being no feed to the coil?? There is no spark from the lead that goes to the dizzy. ive tried a motorsport racing lead on it and still nothing.
I'm offically stuck, i didnt want to take it to a garage but i think ill have to unless someone on here can advise anything??
Thanks alot, Joe.
