Im a VAG technician, the PD injectors are prone to fail and at £400 a pop, is it worth the money? Whereas a standard injector can be removed by the likes of you, and sent to a diesel specialist e.g panda diesels and get the injector overhauled, OP has asked for opinions and ive given mine. You may find 110bhp is not a PD after all. but 115 onwards is.
And at the price £1500, can you find a looked after PD VAG car??

As for VAG TDI's the old VEP pumped 110hp engine is the daddy. The PD's are ok but do not get a 115hp version as they are prone to head gasket failure. The 130 hp version is the best all rounder.
