I had an 850 T5 i got for 1500 quid with 160K on the clock, that kept going up to 200k without any work. Once it died I replaced with a V70 T5, 84k, Volvo FSH, full black leather etc for just over 2k. The suspension was much softer than on the 850 but luckily I had removed it all before I scrapped the 850 as it had Nivomat self levelling rear suspension. I fitted that to my V70 which has stiffened it up loads. They will spin up quite easily so it's important to run decent tyres. Most people on the Volvo forums suggest running the front tyres at a higher than recommended pressure, they seem to grip better and tyre life is actually increased.
