Started learning the basics when I was in primary school. Whenever my dad was changing the oil in his car i'd always go out and watch what he was doing. From about the age of 8 or 9 I started reading tech articles in magazines like CCC. I continued to do so on and off until I was 17. Then I bought a 1.1 Fiesta for £400 and taught myself to change the suspension, set the tappets, paint and fit bodywork etc. I'm by no means an expert now, but I really enjoyed what I had learned.

Life is just too busy now to be dedicating time to learning about cars
