XR3i or XR2??? I have both - kind of!!
Hello guys, I am new on here so firstly hello. I am on another site dedicated to xr2s and links and searches kept pointing me here.
I have a mk2 xr2 track car with a blown engine. It has cage, bucket seats, harnesses and an alloy tank in the back.
I am picking up a mk5 XR3i(1800 zetec 130ps) to slot the engine into the XR2.
The shell on both cars are a bit rotten, but I can weld and make look pretty enough for the track.
I've just had the idea of keeping the XR3i for the track and pulling all the safety gear out of the XR2.
Basically, which car is a better track car? 3dr mk5 escort or mk2 Fiesta? I can't imagine a massive weight difference and I can only guess the escort handles better.
Because it is a track car, speed and handling are important.
Any ideas?? Cheers
