I'll give the bathroom a clean as I've been working on it to give you an idea but I used travertine tiles throughout, look stunning but not very robust or easy to work with, cracked very easily, nice and safe with the kids though as their not slippery at all even when very wet.

I've got the big 600x600 in my kitchen in high gloss black, only b&q specials but their really good tiles,I've dropped loads on them and they've never chipped or cracked,I've dropped tools, big pots and pans etc.

Said kitchen

Said tiles, bastards to keep clean though as you can see from my impromptu effort at mopping!!!

Hall, stairs landing etc I'd stick to light colours and carpets,I've been working on mine the last few weeks and it's nearly done.I'm gutted I didn't take before and after photos as it was so fucking dire before that it was a total fucking embarrassment.

Its been a massive job as the more I looked into it,the more shit I found wrong, had to plaster the bathroom outer wall, hall ceiling, cove the fucking lot, strip back the horrific 70's wallpaper, strip back the appalling paint on the stairs cos some CUNT painted it in emulsion????

I've left some stripped and varnished wood and glossed the rest which I'm very pleased with,it looks good IMO.

Iirc you've got a lovely looking house, looks pretty modern as well so personally I wouldn't go too ott with the colours as it could look really out of place.
