Hi, I need to buy a starter motor for a Focus MK1 1.8 TDCi but it seems to be unclear which is the correct model.
On many sellers websites there are 2 possibilities a 1.7kW and a 2.2kW

Does anyone know if they are in fact interchangable - in which case I will definately choose the more powerful version (main reason for change is poor starting).

There are so many reports of poor starting on these models I'm wondering if some are fitted with the cheaper lower power one which is not really up to the job?

Anyone have any definitive answer on this please?
