I know but I'd sooner have an engine that can do 400bph and back it off to say 350 - 380 so the strain on the engine is not so grate but I have the potential to do big bhp is I need too, or does not not make sence
Depends on how you want the car to drive.

A standard bottom end can produce 400 bhp.....

You're best bet is to drop it to 7.7/1 compression ratio and either port the head or fit cams and then there is the reliability factor you need to build into it. Best to discuss it all with the engine builder to be honest.
