Paras is 9:14 if you can't lift over 116KG on the static lit and 9:40 if you can and thats after a 3 mile warm up run with 30-60 seconds rest. Although they are so picky at the moment you need to be under 9 minutes really. Sit ups and press ups need to be as many as possible, ideally over 80 in 2 minutes and thats at PRAC which is another pre assessment before you even go into training.

Whether it's Navy (1st choice still, grandad was in it) or army (not considering RAF for personal reasons) it would definately have to be an Engineering role.
Thanks for the input

Yeah, I just thought I'd give you a heads up on the pre assessment stuff as it's only recently been introduced. You need to pass this before they even interview you for the job you want. When I was on my pre ADSC there were 50 of us there and I spotted at least 10 lads walking towards the end. Couldn't even run 1.5 miles. They were basically told to go home.
Also it's a massive wait for engineering as I said, because you showed an interest in this. I know as I've just gone through it all and engineering was on my job list as I wanted to go in for the Parachute Regiment battalion of the Royal Engineers originally but was told about the wait so just wait for Parachute Regiment instead.
I applied 3 years ago but was medically deferred for having glandular fever just before I went for training and got settled in my job so only re applied in January this year, and the selection process has changed in that time. I didn't have to do English and Maths tests before, or a pre ADSC.
