hammerite, smooth would look better but id imagine less protective? - even show cars dont have smooth paint underneath, only ever seen one car with smooth underside and it was a out and out trailer queen.

id have the underside body coloured, or black depending then use yellow, red, blue, silver and black to paint parts in, ow and silvery gold/red on the brake calipers
