And be amazed how much ignition advance is used by the standard software.
Ford (and every other manufacturer) has to publish fuel economy statistics. So, the standard mapping is already pretty good to perfect. Otherwise the fuel economy will be not so good, and that will be a reason for the general public to buy another make.
Of course, anything can be changed in software. Even the closed loop can be disabled, but that would be a problem with the next MOT-test.
