if its a road going engine i wouldnt use it, too thick.

have a look at opie oils website (oil man on here) at the technical stuff. a LOT of reading but very interesting stuff.

https://www.opieoils.co.uk/technicalinfo.aspx

i think, if i'm understanding correctly, the W number is the oils viscocity at -24 deg C and the second number is the SAE number and is a measure of the oils viscocity at 100 deg C.

there is NOT a linear increase in viscocity going from 30-40-50-60 so a 60 is a VERY thick oil.

the lower the W number the thinner the oil is wen cold so will be more easily pumped around the engine at first start up and the higher the second number the thicker the oil is when hot.

so in winter a 0W30 is better than a 5W30 as it will offer better protection when cold due to it being easier to pump around the engine. however, obviously you can go too thin.

the best thing i can recomend you do is ring opie oils and speak to them about your specific engine, its mods and its use and they will be able to give you a good grade of oil to use.

also i just found this, might help but i've not read the whole thing...just that it says about him advising against 10W60.

hope this helps.
