the first mistake was putting a bit of paper through the letter box

the second mistake was writting about it ont he internet

the third mistake was giving him his car back

the 4th mistake was letting him walk away with all his appendages attached

as soon as he found out about the wheels and took the car, that's when it should have finished, although i would have got a local druggie to go to the police and tell them that the owner had told him he'd pay him a few quid to get rid of the car for insurance purposes to get the owner into proper shit, i know a guy who got a year long holiday for doing the very same thing twat
