As said 7 PSI is around standard boost, I to would be inclined to repair myself by remaking the track with a piece of wire or alternativly you can buy copper pens to remake the track, the ECU's are extremly scarce, your best bet would be to keep at look in the for sale section of this site or try the likes of North Yorkshire Spares if you did want a replacement and yes it's could quite easily cause the studder.

As said above the chip should have a sticker on it if it's remapped.
