Default Escort tarmac suspension from Reiger Racing

Just got it today. The build quality is outstanding. 62mm struts with 50mm inserts, springs OD is 90mm and the dampers are 3-way adjustable. The front dampers are called 5062 and the rear are 4616.

The turret extensions were sourced from Dewitts. I specified the top-mount and sent drawings then Reiger built a custom off-center mount to meet my specs and the turret extensions. We'll mount the front dampers in the car with the offset towards the rear, to increase castor a bit and leave the camber alone.

I won't discuss the settings are they are completely dependent on the intended use of the car, but Reiger can essentially make exactly what you want. You start from the corner weights and intended use (smooth or rough tarmac, gravel, race car, recce car...) and they come up with spring rates and base damper settings to suit your car and its use. The cost was approx 4000 Euro delivered.

ETA: on a historical note, this was the first ever Reiger set made for the Escort Cosworth. I’ve designed the top mounts myself in SolidWorks to match the WRC turrets and their uneven drill pattern, and sent the CAD drawings to Reiger. If you look closely the top-mounts are 24mm off-center rearwards, to add a bit of caster. In the world rally car the top mount offset is outward to accommodate the wider track but since the road car has the standard-length TCA and hubs, I choose to use the leeway to increase caster instead of track.
