Hoping for some helpful advice here!
Currently my turbo oil drain does point gently downwards as it leaves the turbo core, but only at quite a shallow angle (I'd say 50 -60 degrees from the vertical).
I've read in many places that the oild drain needs to point as close to directly down to the sump/block as possible or else oil can build up in the turbo and overwhelm the seals
When my car reaches operating temperature (anything over about 85 degrees C), I get a very slight bit of smoke with a bluish tinge to it (see vid below - it IS only slight so may be hard to spot!)
If you give the throttle a hard blip then back off you get a tiny puff of it - only at 85 degrees + temp. Does not smoke from cold or when driven - no big clouds of it either.
Do you think rotating the core of my turbo ("clocking") to make the drain point downwards & more direct may help?
I may be being a bit dramatic but I don't want it failing MOT on emissions!
Any help much appreciated
