As standard i agree they are slowish. My stg1 dreamscienced mk1 focus would beat one easy. The bluefin stg2 was much betetr and felt quick.
This 400 spec is more than quick enough for most people.
It's easy to be spoiled into thinking cars need to be quicker due to what you're used to.
I try to step back from that. I really feared for the life of my evo while in it

Iv driven a 580 hp one we did a while back 2.3 stroker and that car was mental on the road!!!
On the road i really couldnt see anything beat it!!!!still didnt like it though and would never have one...felt like it was going to blow any minute..even worse than a yb..lol
