hi peoples basically ive brought another escort rs turbo s2, i picked it up 3 weeks ago and last monday i had my first problem, which ended up being no fuel coming out of my fuel metering unit going in just not coming out.
on thursday i attempted to turn the boost up on my car and whilst i was out setting the car up it boosted to just under 1 bar and it concked out ( no banging or shudders ) literally just cut out i rolled to a stop.
i changed over my fuel metering unit thinking it may be this again but the car wouldnt start, so i changed the unit back over removed the injectors to find that the injectors WAS pumping fuel in to the engine, ive checked for a spark and im getting a good spark.
i changed over the ht leads everything stayed the same i cleaned the plugs and the plugs were also wet. so its sparking and getting wet but just wont fire.
the car turns over fine and fast.
ive done a compression test and these are the readings that i got
no' 1 - 130psi
no' 2 - 150psi
no' 3 - 190psi
no' 4 - 150psi
ive wired a direct feed to fuel pump also to make sure im getting the same current the whole time incase the fuel pump stopped pumping as much whilst engine is being cranked over.
the car DOES'NT smoke ive spoken to torque of the devil and booked it in for this thursday but im worried im gonna pay fortunes for something varily small karl norris told me i need a new engine and ive spoken to a few local garages ford bmw specilist and a mates garage where they have a few rs turbos and every one i talk to tell me to do what ive done.
i had the car running a tiny bit last night for literally about 10 seconds but it HAD to be revved i wouldnt idel.
my mate gave me a coolant sensor as this stopped his car from starting he changed it and it made a differance but the sensor seems to be completely different on my car our cars are the same year G reg, the sensor he told me to try was directly in the middle under neath the inlet plenum.
any help asap would be brilliant
