1) Just to confirm on driveshafts, they are specific to the MT285/Focus except for the (outer) CV joint. Although Ford give it a different FINIS, as they do for other Focus ones (diesel), dimensionally the CV joint is the same for all MK1 Focus, except the FRS (which has Mondeo sized ones like struts, etc).
2) The OS bearing bracket is only different from a 2.0l MTX one because of the different position of the shaft centre. The FRS bracket modification has nothing to do with the 'modeno' oil cooler. Its mainly due to Ford using the upper boss on the sump for the oil breather separator drain. As a result the bracket top bolt uses a spare boss on the block instead. As it has to clear the drain banjo, there's less space for the bearing, so a smaller OD !
If you want more of a mix/match, look at the Blacktop OS bearing/mount on the post 6/98 Mondeo Mk2. Similar to fabrication above, its all supported by bolts into the block.
