Thanks for the replies, breaking it might be the best option.. however, can't really see what prices of bits go for because I'm not a full member on Cliosport. That also means that I can't see if its worth repairing cause I dunno what sort of coin a replacement engine from the parts/breaking bit of forum will sting for either?! Surely 600quid isn't the going rate for an average Clio engine?

What sort of price do 2nd hand 172 parts go for?? Gearbox, Interior, Bodykit, Wheels, Xenons, Exhaust etc...

Apparently the garage have had the head off (charged around £240 for this..) and said that the engine is scrapped, me and one of my mates are going to take a look at the car and see if thats all true, cause it sounds like the garage is trying to rip the piss here and rob the poor guy.
