Default Anybody a PuTTY guru?

Just a bit of break from the norm ...

Basically, I need to copy a folder from a directory that is on a Linux o/s share to another folder on an FTP that is on my LAN, but from my laptop (which is on wireless)

I need GB speeds across the 2 OTHER devices due to the filesizes (they are on the same GBLAN).

Is PuTTY the best way?

And do I use PuTTY logging on using FTP (port21) or SSH (port22)?

I probably didnt explain myself great, but you might get the jist...

Any help appreciated!
