These lamps are suspended from twin cables that run the length of the hall, and the transformer is in a unit on the ceiling. The new transformer came from Screwfix and to keep it cool I relocated it to the attic.
I've certainly got the 240v going in but not the right meter to test the output.
I'll check the bulbs just in case they went with the last transformer but if that isn't it I'm putting proper lights in!
That may not have helped fella as you'll experience a fair bit of voltage drop with longer cables,how much further we talking,about 20ft?your meter should read the other side,or is it a/c only?Can't see why it's blown so quick otherwise,mines been in the bathroom for years with no probs.
