Gearbox on that car should be a b5 or Ib5 of some sort just like most of the ford range. It should have a drain plug and top up plug fitted. If not drained then most of the oil will piss out when the driveshaft are removed going everywhere.

If the gearbox is off then it should be empty. There should be a hex head bolt that once removed you fill the gearbox up through until it just starts to drip out. The oil fill level is the height of this bolt hole.
