I Stayed in Baron Palms last year mate!! Nice hotel, pool is nice although sunbeds are in short supply!! Right near beach, lovely curry house on the beach whcih is worth going to. You wont need £1000 spending money. Did the day trip to Cairo from there and was £180 each i think, but to be honest didnt really rate - Ciaro is a shit hole. Do the Luxor / Valley of the Kings trip, far FAR nicer place but VERY hot as its further south.
