just for everyones reference i had to change the drive shafts on my 2l zetec mk1 and the passenger side is a bitch to do as its held in with a circlip. i found its best to remove the drivers side and remove the bearing carrier to make room and use a lump hammer and long flat head screw driver to go through the diff and whack the passenger side out.
getting the passenger shaft back in is also a bitch. i used a wooden mallet although a heavier rubber mallet would be best and with the shaft located on the splines compressed the shaft (removing the end float and holding the bearings together effectively making it solid) and gently tapped it in.
OP, glad you got it sorted. very god price that especially as they collected the car.
