How do you load new software into one of these wee netbooks that don't have a CD drive?

Kind of related but different - I'm trying to install Belkin drivers for a wireless PCMCIA card on an historic laptop and it just won't play ball via a CF card in a PCMCIA adapter - so how do folk get on with these new machines?
