oldford, yes my mate has done the self test thing which brings up the error codes on the dash, it says 'no dtc'.

I will have a look into what djcossie has suggested, but im away at the monther-in-laws til monday so cant do much til then.

How do I go about getting a PCM update? Just ask at local dealer? And is there a cost involved?
