Did this last year, i just drilled tiny holes and used self tapping screws and siliconed round the hole from the inside when i lifted the carpet up, best way i could find TBH. i did attempt to fix the aeroquip hoses to the original fuel pipe mounts under the car but it looked untidy and there wasn't enough of them to hold it up safely.
If i were to do it again i'd suggest the following, definiately use the telfon lined hose, EVEN IF YOUR RUNNING IT OUTSIDE THE CAR. I used non teflon lined as I was told this was ok for outside use and PTFE lined was reccomended for inside, but if your sitting in traffic, even with the hoses outside the car following the original route, it fcuking stinks! Ok if your driving normally though.
Also, i'd reccomend buying the correct fuel rail (Reyland/A1/etc) which has been machined with the fitting on it, don't mod an old one, thats what i did and then i read about peoples cars going on fire because they have leaked, so spend the extra £££ on doing it right 1st time.Apparently the fitting needs to be braised on, and even then it can still go porous and leak fuel, be warned. My car i off the road but when/if I ever take it out again I'll order a new rail thats up to the job, that way you can drive down the road without havng that worrying feeling in the back of your mind that it could go up in smoke at any given moment.
