Nothing wrong with mahle full race, apart from the price!!
Mahle have recently bought out Glacier, and already own vandervel anyway, as they do COSWORTH, and we all know the know the SUPERB quality of the latest COSWORTH oil pumps don't we ?
There was a certain uk shell manufacturer who supplied "road use" and "race use" bearings, oddly enough they came off the same line, the race use were each checked for dimensions etc, whereas the road use were checked 1 in a 100, of course the race use ones were much dearer.
I use the person I use purely due to reputation, and 54 years experience(not age) of all things engine wise inc race stuff on his own engine dynos, and chassis dynos.
He's just building a genuine GT40 engine up at the mo only part useable was the block, shortly to be making his own rods.
I know one engine was over £100,000 as every part had to be made inc new block, crank rods, pistons, heads, valves, cams etc etc was for some old historic car.
That's why I'm using a std pinto oil pump in preference to a dubious quality exploding cosworth pump.
Quality of most components is a issue these days with recession and cheap chinese manufacturing.
These are just my views you must do as you see fit, it's your money.
I was very impressed with my 200,000 mile bearings, still have the mains and they look perfect if anyone wants to see just for curiosity.
