Default Properly near miss for me on saturday at combe - pic/vid

Suspension problem nearly took my corsa out of action on its first track outing on satuday.

If you look about 10 seconds into the video the car twitches left, thats from the strut moving relative to the hub which put a significant amount of toe out onto the car on that wheel, thus making it as if I had steered left a bit, as it happened I felt it so immediately corrected it, so you only see a bit of a twitch but obviously that sort of twitch when you are already on the cornering limit of the car is always going to be a problem, and it was the back that broke free, I turned into the skid to try and catch it but even on full lock it wasnt enough, and it made it to the grass, once it was there I had no chance as ran out of grip.
As soon as I pulled away after the car had settled, I could feel something was wrong, so we put hazzards on and limped round to the pull in after quarry where I would be out the way enough to not interfere with the session for everyone else.

It was very close to hitting the barrier as you can see!

I thought the bolt had come loose but much to my surprise the bolt wasnt loose at all when I went to undo it, but there obviously just wasnt enough friction on it for some reason (maybe it was a bit greasey when it was assembled) to hold on the shock absorber with hard cornering forces.

You can see in this picture where I had the full lock on trying to catch it, which held it sideways briefly, which I guess took just enough momentum out to stop it getting the barrier!
