his age in this case is irrelevant. its a simple fact that in most pursuits the occupants try to escape. its just a fact of societys demographics that most TWOCERS etc are not OAPs.

yes it is unusual that he wasnt speeding but it is totally routine for criminals to stop, seemingly about to give up then speed off.

plus hes already knocked one person coming close to running him over.

The fact the guy may or may not be frail and ill is something the police will not have been aware of at the time.

he only stopped because of the spike strip in his path.

do you really think the coppers would give someone fleeing the police a chance to drive off again??? of course they wouldnt. Hence the aggressive action to subdue him.

As it turns out the police tactic WORKED and the guy gave up.

we only have HIS word to say he didnt mean to run. The facts prove otherwise.
