Thanks for the replies. The wire I have is red/black and this if it is the same is shown as the correct colour in Haynes. The red / black goes into a connector I found that was hiding behind the battery. This wire dissapears into the loom where haynes shows it changing to black / blue.

I connected the red/black on the solenoid to the bottom threaded connector. Is it right the top threaded connector is unconnected to anything.

The issue I have is that I have put the enhine / box from my old car into a rolling shell. All wiring except the engine loom were in the car already. The car has a Clifford 600 security system in.

I've come to fire her up and the alarm, lights and all other electrics work but the car does not crank over. Car electrics are not my strong point so I'm unsure where to go from here. I've checked the wiring as best I can and all seems ok apart from the solenoid query I have.

Is this pointing to a Clifford problem or something else. Any idea of what to check or do I pull out the Clifford and work from there?

Thanks

Steve
