I put a brand new one on and it was the same.
I am touching a very large piece of wood but i think ive found the problem the little braided wire that runs between the solenoid and the main body was touching the caseing thus arking out and not turning over. Ive just bent it away from the body and all seems well for now untill the next drama comes along lol
