Its not a safety feature to stop it overboosting, its basically a standard version of the solonoid you are fitting that is controlled by the ECU. Its the chip that has the overboost protection so thats dependent on what one you are running. The MAP sensor will let the ECU know what boost the car is running so if the chip has overboost protection it doesnt matter what is controlling the boost.
